This new multi-donor Fund supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and leading private foundations, including the Baring Foundation, has awarded its first grants.

The Equal, Safe and Free fund is a new multi-donor fund, including the UK FCDO and leading private foundations, and will support LGBTI communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific Islands.

Our new grants will go to support the Initiative Sankofa D’Afrique De L’Ouest (ISDAO), a new regional grantmaker, and to Synergia.

Grants have been awarded to the LGBTI Donor Initiative, All Out and the Global Philanthropy Project.
