Examining anti-racism and anti-colonialism in the Baring Foundation’s International Development programme

Arbie Baguios, Aid Re-imagined
How does the Foundation's International Development programme engage with anti-racism and anti-colonialism and how could it do more?
International Development

Since 2015, our International Development programme has supported civil society organisations to address discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI+) individuals and communities in sub-Saharan Africa, with a specific focus on lesbian and transgender communities.

The Baring Foundation commissioned Arbie Baguios of Aid Re-imagined to review the programme through the lens of anti-racism and anti colonialism as part of a wider review of the programme strategy in 2021. This in turn is part of a wider commitment by the Baring Foundation to broaden our focus on racial justice from 2020 onwards.
