New grants awarded by the Strengthening Civil Society programme this Autumn

The Baring Foundation’s Strengthening Civil Society programme awarded several new grants this Autumn. These include grants to:

• the British Institute for International and Comparative Law to promote implementation of local-authority led alternatives to the Prevent programme;
• the Corporate Justice Coalition to support a campaign for mandatory human rights and environmental due diligence legislation in the UK. This marks the first grant under our new theme of supporting civil society to use the law to tackle corporate harm;
• the Corra Foundation for onward grant-making for the Independent Human Rights Fund for Scotland; and
• the Environmental Law Foundation who are supporting communities to use the law to tackle environmental harm (see below also).
