Details

This submission was written by consultant Sarah Cooke on behalf of the Baring Foundation.

This submission is a response to the Joint Committee on Human Rights Inquiry into the Government’s Independent Human Rights Act Review in early 2021.

The submission illustrates – drawing on the experience of the Foundation as an independent grant-maker across the UK and case studies from organisations the Foundation has funded – the impact of the Human Rights Act on the realisation of rights, on public authorities and public decision-making, and on the relationship between the Courts, Government and Parliament.
