Details

Since 2015, our International Development programme has supported civil society organisations to address discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI+) individuals and communities in sub-Saharan Africa, with a specific focus on lesbian and transgender communities.

The Baring Foundation commissioned Arbie Baguios of Aid Re-imagined to review the programme through the lens of anti-racism and anti colonialism as part of a wider review of the programme strategy in 2021. This in turn is part of a wider commitment by the Baring Foundation to broaden our focus on racial justice from 2020 onwards.
