From Van Gogh, Dali and Munch to Yayoi Kusama today, the visual arts have a long history of association with people living with mental health problems.
That contribution continues today in the UK through a vibrant tradition of participatory visual arts activity (defined broadly, including painting and drawing, ceramics, print-making, crafts…). This is the subject of the latest report in our Creatively Minded series, which tells this story through 16 case studies of contemporary organisations working in this field.
