Job vacancy: Programmes Officer

An opportunity to be at the heart of our efforts to achieve positive social change, this role will focus on our Strengthening Civil Society programme, but will work across all three programme areas.

The Baring Foundation is recruiting for a new Programmes Officer – for the right candidate it offers the opportunity to be at the heart of our efforts to achieve positive social change.

The Baring Foundation is one of the UK’s best known independent funders. We have a current focus on three areas of work: the arts and older people, effective use of the law for social change in the UK and LGBTI rights in Africa.

The Programmes Officer will focus on our Strengthening Civil Society programme, but will work across all three programme areas. They will be central to our work to support civil society to achieve social change, starting with strategy development, through assessment, to evaluation at the end of a grant.

The successful candidate will be committed to our aims to protect and advance human rights and promote inclusion and will have an understanding of the context of civil society in the UK. With good communication and analytical skills, they will be able to work on their own initiative within a small team.

The post is based at our London office. Only candidates with permission to live and work in the United Kingdom are eligible to apply.
